The Club
The Ibiza Celtic Supporters Club was formed in September 2008. It began when a few of us who met regularly to watch the Hoops decided we needed a more organised structure. Following the interest in our trip to see the Bhoys in Barcelona we realised that there was probably enough of us to form an official CSC.
An initial meeting was convened and a hard-core group have forged ahead to put in place the foundations of a club which will be long-lasting and ready for expansion. Due to the massive number of tourists who arrive in Ibiza each year we expect to see our numbers grow rapidly throughout 2009.
The initial membership consists of Scottish and English ex-pats most of whom live in Ibiza all year round. We will be working actively to include the local Spaniards in the Club, not only to cement our place in the community, but also to strengthen the existing ties between Celtic and Spain.
We meet regularly to watch Celtic games and plan events. Already this year we have held a BBQ at a local beach and intend to have another soon. Events for 2009 include a trip to somewhere in Europe (details closely guarded at the moment!) and a ‘Celtic Week’ in July featuring bands, boat trips and much more.
